Vain Wishes

VAIN WISHES

     I wish in vain
     I wish I were a child secure
     I wish in vain
A child again in mother’s arms
Protected by her love so sure
     Immersed in happiness that’s pure
     I wish in vain

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
