Vagabond Dreams

Just another vagabond
 a nomadic wanderer along the rivers and streams,
 living footprints in the sands,
 thirsting in the arid passages of time;
the path unclear yet lay wide open
 homeless unravelers of lost ethnicities
 through the unseen iron grated doors
 holding close to the heart longings, want
of all that was, all that is,
 all that came before
 an idle vagrant waiting transient stray
 huddling with the masses for freedom's sake;
a prodigal on his roaming journey
 traveling through history's recordings
 marking time and place
 dreams clouding, hazy and vague,
erased.
