Vacant Choice

Vacant Choice


                    Loss is such a vacant word
                         The hollowness of a chest
                              An echo of a heart unheard
                                   They say its for the best

                    A cliche believed so absurd
                         Banned from the parental nest
                              Sad story the abandoned bird
                                   Without the choice to contest
