Vacancy

I looked for you today
In the places you used to stay
Doing the things you used to do
Seeing the sights you used to see
Being the person you used to be
But all I found
Was a vacancy
That should have been filled with you

Who could ever take up that space?
Which mortal could ever replace
You?
If it can’t be your face I see
Leave it be
Keep it empty.
