Urban Soul

In the rhythmic swishing

   of the dawn's ebb tide 

      that hesitantly leaves 

         the soft, sandy shoal,

            something there hushes  

               down the cold turmoil, 

                  the trembling, the fear

                     of the weary, urban soul.
