Urban Sly

The floral crepe falling like snow In the still humid heat of Atlanta Distant chirps of new born flight Interrupt the cloudless sky I am surrounded by the slow morn crawl Uncharted steps of the sleepy eye A change is creeping on steel framed knees The new foliage is planned The human taming of nature An unkind progress That cloaks the underclass with appropriation My root is made brittle By the channeled flow of finance What is a future without a past But just a moment that is designed not to last With eye to the present I summon scrutiny to the lamb Be mindful of the wolf His promise only serves his hand.
