Ups and Downs

Life’s not easy, and sometimes it’s rough With “ups” and “downs” and the in-between stuff It’s the “downs” in life that make you strong To cope with pains that will come along When those bad times come in to play Everything turns sour and your day is gray Draw from your knowledge about the past Recall that phrase, “This Too Shall Pass!” “Ups” don’t exist without any “downs” No reason to smile if you can’t frown Life would be dull if you didn’t have both Things would be stagnate, there’d be no growth So when life throws you the old curve ball It’s only a spike in your long haul You’ve been there, so meet it head on After a time, it too will be gone
