Upon a Falling Star
Upon a fallen star
I made a wish upon a falling star
Blew out my candles on my birthday
Tossed a few pennies in the wishing well
All that I may have a minute with you
I could have asked for longer
But that minute
Will last me a lifetime
I am not a greedy man
I just want you all to myself
One minute
To hold you close
One minute
To speak the secrets of my heart
One minute
A still frame picture
Forever frozen in time
To say
I Love You
To stare into your eyes
To hear you say the words
That I have so longed to hear
When you say
You love me back
No other greater joy
To know your heart
I have captured
As you stole my heart
One minute ago
It is yours to keep
Staring at the night sky
Searching for another fallen star
To wish for another minute with you
Here’s to wishing
I have fallen deeply
In love
With only you
