Up Periscope

Inside the racy, forest-green, alpha romeo moisture beads the glass like the facets of the jewel she dreams on her ring finger. The lush leather blackness glazes skin golden in the lamplight cradling the lingering lovers tousled tendrils, twine. Deep, dark, eyes search for meaning in an ocean of salt and seed. Periscope breaches silken surfaces revealing an odd cant to the moon at the submarine races.

A nice way to describe those matrimonial expectations that yearning ladies use to motivate their rituals ... beyond my ethnographic read ... a delightful poem, delivered with sensitivity and mastery.

Oh my gosh! Someone knows about submarine races. I was VERY naive when I heard that one for the first time. Love this poem. (My new husband took me to a beach off Staten Island to "watch" them! Thank you too for stopping by to comment on my poetry. Dad only had girls, and luckily I was a tomboy! ~J~

Haven't been to the submarine races in ages! Is Camden still as picturesque as ever or still snow bound? We found it from a 40 footer touring from Quincy. How do I soup mail? (We're gathing as much info as possible
