Up On the Mountain

Up on the mountain, Past the foothills, There's a place, That gives me chills, Where I feel closer to God, Then down in the valley, And where my blessings, I can tally.... Of all those blessings, There is but one, For friends and lovers, But I'm not done... He shares his wisdom With those who shine With love and caring, For all mankind... Those who hate, Those who kill, All they get, Is His ill will... So when you look, Up to the sky, And if perchance, You wonder why.. Why is it as it is, Why must people die... Someday you'll realize The reason why... For life's value, Is measured against his death, And when you take, Your last breath... And God welcomes you With open arms, You'll finally be Beyond life's potential harms.. So live your life, Enjoy all that's good, Where you stand... Is where every man stood.
