Up In Smoke

There’s a fire raging in my chest a tornado swirling in my eyes, There’s tremor in my hands and my lips going numb… What’s the matter with me? Every day is a struggle for survival Every breath a mortal risk Every wound a potential killer Every venue a journey into the unknown! Oh say, can someone care to explain? Is there a new look on my face? Why does my trusted mirror then fails to recognize me? Shouldn’t a heart beat lively with love and hope? Why is my heart like a stone tossed on a scorching desert? What kind of a baffling place in my life I have now come to? On this ash-strewn pathway there’s nothing but bleak loneliness. ~"Depression" contest by Lewis Raynes

Very bleak, indeed. Scary to read and contemplate---let alone experience. A well-deserved trophy winner, Abdul! Congrats! Best wishes, Gershon Wolf
