Up Before the Match Strikes

Joy jumping out of bed.
Mud in my eye; well,
in my mug.

Click kicking heels together.
The weather is fine;
so am I.

Magnanimously smiling.
A peep at pre-rise;
no delay.

Yes, up before the match
strikes in the horizon;
yellow leaves of sun.

I’m undone by my God
who supplies all His riches
in glory.

Perhaps, you’re still
under the sheets,
buried in sleep.

Pre-rise tomorrow!
Click kick heels &
Joy jump out of bed!

I’ll wave at you
as you pour mud
in your mug.

your poem pays homage to those words, "rise and shine"--inspirational words. I rise early, usually about 5:30 a.m....enjoy the quiet and alone time.

Here's mud in your mg. LOL. Better than the same substance in your eye, anyway... I admire your getting out of the sack early. Can't do it anymore myself, unless I absolutely have to. ~ Laz E. Bones

Dear Kim, I love seeing your joyful, energetic ode to the morning, with a sense of spiritual blessing and contentment. I strive to find complete fulfillment and gratitude in the earliest moments of the day and have the same enthusiasm, at least sometimes. Autumn Blessings, Dear Kim, Daniel
