Unworthy

Unworthy of your wondrous Love
I survey your blood stained cross.
In awe, I am overwhelmed by the gift
Of your life to save mine.
I, unloving and undeserving of such a great cost.

That you who were perfect and sinless
Could humble yourself, and come down to Earth,
To save a sinful wretch like me,
I am amazed at my worth.

Why, O Lord, did you care for me,
Who am so unworthy of such care?
That you could hang on that old rugged cross,
And die for me, and for those who put you there.
