Notes About The Poem

Image result for purple or lavender spirea

Unusual

One goldfinch rest upon a weed Eats a few seeds from the spirea Lands on birdbath's rim, drinks his fill Across my vision, black butterfly unreal two unusual sightings in a few minutes.... Georgia summer morn
We don't usually see Goldfinches here unless it is in their spring migration or their fall migration, so I was shocked. We don't see many of those black butterflies either.

Thank you, Jack. I enjoyed them both. Yesterday I saw a male Goldfinch which is slightly more colorful so there is a pair somewhere around or they were just flying through. I will watch to see if I see them again. Sara

Victor, I am so glad I have the chance to see nature from my kitchen window because it helps ease the dullness of the day or commonality of the day. Thanks for dropping by. I saw a goldfinch again this morning and this time it was a male so maybe there is a couple nesting around here. Sara
