Untold Story

Pain killers.
Metaphorical right?
Will they help ease my emotional pain?
The answer is no,
but like hell I tried.

I popped Tylenol like candy,
its a miracle
that I never needed
to get my stomach pumped.

An untold story,
one filled with teardrops
on my kitchen floor.
Each night I'd see just how many,
I could take.
Most nights it was on an empty stomach.

Had I continued this behavior,
It's unlikely I'd be here writing this out,
I'm so glad I didn't continue.

I am glad you didn't too. Pills don't help emotional pain but writing and sharing does. Glad your here.

I am also glad you did not continue. Hopefully writing is therapeutic for you as it is for many of us. Thank you for your honesty. Honesty makes the best poems!
