Untitled No 10

How’d we ever let it come to this?
Even though eternal love we swore,
You chose, somehow, this pain for all our bliss;
We broke each other’s hearts right to the core.

Even though eternal love we swore,
Though we had promised we’d be better men,
We broke each other’s hearts right to the core.
I swore I’d never break a heart again.

Though we had promised we’d be better men,
We grew apart, and love began to fade.
I swore I’d never break a heart again,
but promises should not be lightly made.

We grew apart, and love began to fade;
you chose, somehow, this pain for all our bliss,
but promises should not be lightly made.
How’d we ever let it come to this?

There's so many emotions tangling within. Sometimes, it's just not meant to be. Your thoughts caress gently around me and my heart. ~ Brandy
