i saw you today
in my mind’s eye
just like yesterday
as if it wasn’t goodbye
i heard you call my name
though I could not tell
if i was mad or sane
for i am under your spell
i felt your embrace
enveloped in your scent
memories I’ve long erased
whence my soul you have rent
