Notes About The Poem

Won 3rd place in a Mother's Day contest [4/23/25]

Contest Winner Medal 3 Untitled Michael Ramel

Untitled (3rd Place Winner-April 23, 2025)

To my mother
She's the closest thing to God I know
She's a giver of life, love
She's the music, the maestro
She brings the sun inside when it starts to rain
She finds the warmth inside the cold
Has a home if you need to stay
She's the one who guided us
Through all the forgotten years
The times that we would stumble
She would wipe away the tears
As God created the earth, the skies, the sea
God also had time to create My Mom
His best written poetry

Such a precious work of poetry! I can totally relate to your praise. Good moms do counter balance the bad with their goodness. I love this line,"She brings the sun inside when it starts to rain" Congratulations! Xo

thanks Crystol.....My mom unfortunately passed away in 2019, but I did write this (and had it framed) for her on Mother's Day of 1994 so she did get to enjoy it.

CONGRATULATIONS #3 of The Mother's Day Contest!!! If my 82-year-old Mom was the final judge of my contest, you would have won the trophy. You were her #1. I did include you in the top 3 for this reason but not only for this reason. The poem was so powerful it didn't need a title or perhaps the title is so implied because of the heart that is poured out through the poem. Thanks for sharing!!!

A big thanks to all mother's (especially to your mom and my mom this poem being first in their hearts) for the unsung things they do and work they accomplish...I appreciate the contest and chance to "give a shout out" to my mother who passed away in 2019
