I've watched you crying.....in your sleep
And heard you praying.....and asking why
I never listened.....to your heart
Until you finally.....said goodbye

I saw a letter.....you wrote to me
That one you wrote.....back in July
I never listened.....to your cries
Until you finally.....said goodbye

I heard you whisper.....I love you
But all I did.....was make you cry
I never listened.....to those little things
Until you finally.....said goodbye

I left your love.....just fade away
And now these tears.....are in my eyes
I never listened.....to a single word
Until you finally.....said goodbye
