Until the Day
Until the day
Darkness prevails on this storm battered shore
Threatening, the sight of the skies through the mist
Weather cast shadows embark to endure
Gathering close as a means to exist
Lo, now I wander with tears in my eyes
Saltwater weepings a’ flow ‘pon the sand
Thoughts filled with images linger my cries
Where has she gone, I cannot understand
An angel, I swear, sent by heaven’s sweet touch
Merely her scent or a wisp of her hair
Took this poor man deeply into her clutch
Eternal longings I cherished to share
When on that morning I woke all alone
Frantically calling her name to the sea
Nary a trace of her beauty now shone
Desperate, the waves crashing coldly on me
Heartbroken memories taunting my soul
Echoing dreams, since have long lost their way
Endless, the loneliness taking control
Sorrow grips tightly its gloom filled display
Lost midst the madness no longer to cease
Here I shall stumble, my knees on the ground
Take from me please, oh I beg thee release
Until the day my true love can be found
Good night Soupers
Have a great weekend
