Until It's Gone

Now I don't know it all, so you can correct me if I'm wrong. But they say you don't know what you've got, until what you've got is gone. And right now you've got me, so baby please hang on. Hold me before I go, because if I go, I'm gone. And once I'm gone that's it, there's no coming back. Once I'm gone it's over and it's me you'll then lack. And to lack is to want but let me be blunt. If I go I'm not coming back, so want all you want. Cry all you can if you let me go. Because it's the love that we share that you'll never again know. So right now you've got me floored with that loving feeling. As I walk next to you, I don't even notice the ceiling. As I look in your eyes, I thank God that you're mine. Because you can't have a night sky unless the stars shine. So you're my shining star, you're my sunrise too. You're everything to me, I swear all I need is you. But sometimes I wonder, could you possibly feel the same? Sometimes I wonder if you could allow your mind to change. Because I'm so hard-headed, I'm so stubborn in my ways. I swear if I set my mind to it, I could turn nights into days. I could turn days into nights and minutes into months. I could turn once into twice and twice back to once. Which is exactly how many, chances I'll give you. So if you let me go now, it hurts to say it but we're through. Because I've set my mind to you and my heart along with it. But I don't think you understand, I don't think that you get it. This isn't just temporary, I'm not here for your amusement. The only thing that's temporary is my heart if you abuse it. The only thing that's temporary is my love if you just use it. The only thing that's temporary is my mind before I loose it. Because you're driving me crazy, to the point that I can't sleep. I just want you to hold on, I just hope that it's me you keep. Because you won't know what you've got, unless you hold on. You won't know what you've lost until after I'm gone. So right now I'm here with you, right in front of your face. Begging you please, to do whatever it takes. Just hold me close, because this can't be wrong. Just don't let me go, because if you do, I'm gone.
