Until I Saw the Light
I thought I had it all planed out
Until it all just changed.
I thought my love would last forever
Until she left me estranged.
I thought it could all be fixed
Until she said no way.
Still I hoped it could work out
Until she moved away.
I thought a degree was all I need
Until the economy took a dive.
Tried to hold out for a job I want
Until I needed one to survive.
I thought I possessed all the skills
Until I saw what was required.
Was hoping I find that perfect job
Until this all transpired.
I was just about to give up hope
Until I remembered all the good.
I gave up way too easily
Until I finally understood.
