Until I Cannot Stand

"Until I cannot stand!"
he bellowed as he smiled
when asked how long he planned
to love his only child

I sit with him by choice
until I cannot stand
the tremor in his voice,
the tremble of his hand

He asked to see his land
and there, said "I will farm
until I cannot!"... Stand
now, Poppa, take my arm...

That spring my Poppa died
but I still feel him and
know he'll be at my side
until I cannot stand

Very beautifully crafted, Lycia...Both provocative and appealing; I really did enjoy the read this long night. My best regards! :) john
