Untethered Threads
Like a thistle seed
at the mercy
of the wind;
I cling to tufts of
untethered threads.
I've no roots,
no destination,
no destiny and
no ambitions.
Like a snowflake
in a flurry:
I'm both unique,
and commonplace;
as I drift through life.
But you are like
a fledged dove,
riding the wind
on wings of hope;
in complete control.
You're my breath, my soul,
my everything.
You are the breeze
that carries
me aloft:
teaching me to fly
like the birds and
feel one with the wind.
