Untethered And Rare
A blessing of narwhals swims Arctic seas
with unicorn horns held high in the air;
having never seen a forest of trees.
Navigating waters that quickly freeze,
serenely aloof, untethered, and rare;
a blessing of narwhals swims Arctic seas.
Swimming through frozen seas, quick as you please;
they are the undisputed masters there,
having never seen a forest of trees.
Naturally nimble, they glide and squeeze
through cracks in the pack-ice without much care;
a blessing of narwhals swims Arctic seas.
Riding invisible currents with ease,
they jostle and spar each other with flair;
having never seen a forest of trees.
They seem to fly as if on a trapeze;
awed by their beauty; I can only stare.
A blessing of narwhals swims Arctic seas;
having never seen a forest of trees.
