Unspoken Words

There are times
when conversation ceases 
and words become 
unnecessary,
giving way to 
sparkling eyes,
gentle hands, 
knowing smiles.

These speak volumes
regarding love,
affection,
friendship.
The roots of which
are firmly set
in bygone years,
growing ever stronger
with each tomorrow.
