Unsaid
If people really knew the girl
Not the one they see
Would they all still feel the same
Hope that’s what they’d be
Would people all still envy her
They try to find a flaw
She wishes they all knew the truth
To her there’s so much more
If you’re watching from the side
She seems to have it all
Her whole world’s there in front of her
There’s no way she could fall
But every night she goes to bed
She prays to stop the pain
For whilst she’s aching in the storm
They’re dancing in the rain
When she wakes she starts to cry
She cannot face the day
Her eyes are red they’re still so sore
The hurt won’t go away
They say that she could light a room
Her beauty captures you
She hides it well puts on a face
She knows they can’t see through
She’s caught up in the battlefield
But how long can she fight
The end was once so close to her
Now it’s not in sight
Long ago when things got rough
She took the deadly road
It seemed to be the easy choice
No sorrow ever showed
Even though she’s gone so far
She hopes it’s not too late
To turn and go the other way
Time won’t stop and wait
She hates to spend her days this way
Why won’t they realise
Her lifeless soul just standing there
The sadness in her eyes
She knows that she should reach for help
Not keep it in her head
But all the words she’s never spoke
Will still remain unsaid.
