Unredeemed

decayed as corrosion seeks a way to abort fear
into realms of subconscious oblivion-
seeking what needs to be seen, I gaze only at sights
ahead that lead to redemption;
enlaced and cuddled inside burlap (craving silk)
needing only one seal to close a letter to pain,
but you attach anguish inside the envelope in case;
signed with a signature from...
                                          you

I sit confused; contorted-
I awoke this morn with silent dreams;
startled from all that delivers what might have been-
disconcerted with remorse I am left muddled and
confounded in a cave of self-pity and weakness,
trying to align my soft heart with a harmonizing
aria of brilliant tears, longing not to shed;

                 astonished and filled with surprise I close my eyes-
                 I see the my dusk meant for dawn in the eastern skies

A wondrous read. Feelings are an odd sense in general. When writing fiction, poems, stories, things from our head, we can not yet help but stop to question, is this really some part of me??? Ann

"enlaced and cuddled inside burlap (craving silk) needing only one seal to close a letter to pain,"- Wow, Lu Loo. You either have been through a lot, or your empathy is surrounding you like a halo!

what's funny about that. I could never put my finger on what it's called when you write a total fictional poem for a contest that's deep and raw, not knowing where the feelings came from- is empathy the name for expressing such pain I don't really feel? Maybe it's felt thru someone else and I can write of it? hmm...I think you nailed it! thank you for that, makes sense...blessings ;)-luloo
