Unreasonable
I’ve got about a dozen ways
To let you know I’m walking out,
A dozen steps to reach the door
And one last kiss to plant the doubt.
I’ve prayed about a hundred times
For my lips to say the word,
A hundred looks into your eyes
And one last time it stayed unheard.
I’ve thought about a thousand lives
Where I don’t stand alone and grieve.
A thousand lives where I could stay
And this one where I leave.
I’ve got about a million voices
Whispering in my ear
About a million reasons to go,
But just a good one to stay here.
