Unmarried

Maybe he utters promises in the name of the Lord But unwilling to bind the matrimonial cord You may be his resting place But you are not his home. Maybe he stares at you with passion But you are not the one he's looking for Yet he can't say it-- "farewell" or "shalom!" You may be treated as a princess But he is searching for a queen Maybe he dries those tears But he never lets you lend his ears You may always be comforted But you aren't his resting place When he wants peace of mind in solace Is that how you want to be treated?
