Unlimited Love

Love is real or imagined, a gamble unplanned, That can dominate thought and behavior command. Love is wondrous and wild, overwhelming when new, And when found and enduring, a dream coming true. Love's a stirring sensation and feeling of flight That may blossom with time or erupt at first sight. An intense, unexpected emotional high That will flourish or falter, enrapture or die. Love is tough and platonic and puppy and free; An impassioned conversion of I into we. It is sacrifice, chemistry, blessing, and bliss From unspoken devotion to amorous kiss. Love is glances and daring and weakness in knees. It's two arms intertwined and a palm you may squeeze. It is whispered endearments and promises made; Then dejection and anger if later betrayed. Love is gentle caresses and mutual lust That are needed and human--a natural must. Love is strange and irrational, fierce and complex That, when present, enhances the pleasure of sex. Love's a force irresistible, happiness found, And a union of hearts by companionship bound That if suddenly lost becomes aching despair With sad memories, silence, and nobody there. Love is more than affection; it's ardor that blooms. It's a fervor that simmers or blaze that consumes. It is fleeting or blind, unrequited or strong, And the favorite topic of sonnet and song. Love is valentines, chocolates, roses, and rings; An invincible captor of peasants and kings. It's a masterpiece painted and symphony scored And the end of a rainbow--life's greatest reward.
