Universe

Outside I sit, enjoy the light
Sun shines warm on my face
And the wind blows refreshingly cool
Mind is blank
I think of nothing and everything at the same time
Serenity washes over me
And I look up
Gaze into the perfectly white, fluffy clouds
They look so soft, just as they did when I was a child
And I'm feeling so happy to simply be alive

In this complex universe I realize how small an insignificant
Our little human lives actually are
The problems in our minds seem so relavent
When in actuality they don't mean a thing

This vast and unknown thing we call existence, life
It is beautiful, baffling
Simply amazing everything around us
I'm glad to be a tiny piece of it

The taste of chocolate sweet on my tongue as it melts
Each and every breath I take, a gift
The way you feel when you make someone's day
Or in love, having fun
Yet so many deny the beauty and focus on the bad

As I stand I think "I am a part of this universe."

"A significant one."
