Unrealistic desires,
Left him with acerbic recollections
Of a life filled with decaying memories.
When young, years faded,
And passed away as time marched on;
But when older, his days took wings,
And morphed into a whisper;
Life has came to a sweet but sorrowful end
Far beyond his long ago days;
He wasn’t one who failed at life, merely surviving.
But had to scratch every day to survive;
I know he fought a good fight,
I hope he kept the faith, and now, his race is finished;
Today my thoughts unravel,
As tears flow for the loss of a great friend;
