Unheard Sigh

With a single whispered word
She brought him to his knees
But alas she did not know
Nor did she hear the pleas
Of his anguished breaking heart
Which wept but could not show
Outwardly through spoken word
What it and his soul did know
With many an inward burning tear
I love thee true his heart did cry
Yet went unheard and so his soul's
Flame died out with a whispered sigh
