Unforgiving Climb

Some born on top,
many on bottom

There is no levels
when young
           Just wide eyes
and play

When you grow
your told your place
Finding your bottom
           held in a firm fist

Jumping to escape
striving to climb up

You make some money
landing a job
selling merchandise
            selling to top people
You slowly rise
from your bottom
Getting married
Get promoted
Popping out a kid

You have made it to
the top

As this long
climb has no more steps
              Your heart weakens
choking life out

You slowly die
leaving your place
at the top
