Sara Etgen-Baker after running in the Olympic Torch Relay in Santa Fe, New Mexico, January 12, 2002—a truly unforgettable and life-changing moment. The theme of the relay and words inscribed on the Olympic Torch were: Light the Fire Within.

UNFORGETTABLE MOMENT-for Wonder of Soul's Expression Poetry Contest

Olympic flame, a stolen piece of sun,  
balanced in my unworthy hands,  
half a mile—just long enough  
to feel the weight of history  
and the lightness of being chosen.  

my footsteps left no mark—the fire did,  
brief, bright—symbol of the fire within.
