Unforgettable

The haze glistened upon the morning dew,
Birds chirped as if any other day,
The sky hung heavily with curiosity.
An American flag hangs proudly ahead,
Greeting the sun kissed sky.
Without a warning,
Tragedy strikes and lives are taken,
Tears shatter the dampened pavement,
And cries echo loudly amidst the air.
Our country is pure chaos,
Led to betrayal from trust.
Lives are wounded and captured,
And people will remain in dismay.
Remember it always,
Our nation's tribulation,
Forever in our hearts it remains.
