Unfinished Work With Him Complete

Unpaved road in deep woods
Those trees like soldiers stood
Draped in color as a golden gown
The fall leaves worn as her crown

Looking ahead the rooad narrows
Glancing back a great horizon

Hard to be traveling here
The darkness engulfs total surround
Only enough light for one step
One step ahead is all can be seen
On Him now totally have to lean

As slowly travel ahead
A bright light turns my head
On both sides and behind
Noises of animals in wood
Stomach rumbles for dinner time
Inching closer the light overpowers
From within a Being comes closer
"Come in my child and a dine for you made it ..It's dinner time"..

This is a really good premise for a poem, Sara, comparing a dark path to reliance on God. When you say UNfinished work, do you mean its title or are you still not finished with this poem? That last stanza really lets us feel the need for faith. OH, I knew about maple! I remember reading about it in grade school. Never had it on biscuits but I can just imagine it on the butter!
