Unfinished

Failed to complete
Project abortion
Fragments of dreams
Scattered, portions

Forgotten pieces
Abandoned parts
A plan was in place
Before I lost heart

The thought was clever
But never matured
Now it’s just clutter
From explosions, occurred

Bursts of desire
Litter the ground
Minus fuel for the fire
To nail one down

Remnants haunt me
Each way I turn
What bridge is next
I’m ready to burn

It happens all too often, well penned though and so familiar.

Explosive imaging of an all-too-familiar occurrence, Anna! Best wishes, Gershon

So many things we begin are left unfinished. Time and unforeseen occurrences are often to blame. Unfinished poems, a recipe we never got around to trying, and the worst of all is a relationship that ended with 'what if.' I felt the sadness in your thoughts, Anna.
