Unfamiliar Poetry

Words leap from my mind onto a page
I stare at them
Wondering from whence they came
Knowing tomorrow I will not recognize them at all
Or maybe even in an hour

This happens to me when I look back through pages of notebooks I've written in. If I actually complete something I've never experienced the forgetful feeling, but many things I've began I have no recall of what I was writing about. Interesting write. Enjoyed it.

It is crazy how soon I forget a poem, practically the second it hits the page.

My husband thinks it is hilarious that I have forgotten a poem almost the second it hits the page.
