Unfamiliar Line

 Words have meaning to impart,
 When "she reassured me with an unfamiliar line"
 I knew that soon our hearts would part
 As words show the heart's incline
 
 Sometimes you have to read between the lines
 To discern what's being said
 Then you'll see the sign
 and the deceit you're being fed

 As the sun begins to set
 Memories flash across my mind
 Her words do linger yet
 With echoes of her unfamiliar line

Reading between the lines is important but one must be careful not to interpret meanings to satisfy our ego.
