Unfaithful

Agnostic me the Atheist –
the devil’s advocate.
No worship, church or being blessed;
No feeling for religious hate.

Bombarded by the hands of God,
for vacuum must be filled,
so every faith does seek my nod
to have their oath instilled.

But God and Godless are not foes
that snarl across the land.
It is two faiths where hatred grows
beyond a line drawn in the sand.

What a thought provoking write! I don't enjoy the hate filled rhetoric the people use to make one feel in the wrong. Faith is a personal thing. However, if a truly spiritual Christian has a loved one who is agnostic... I'm sure some conversations will flow out of love.

Hello Eileen … thank you again. It seems each time I read about wars breaking, religion is behind the antagonists. I don't have anything against believing in God. That is true faith. Religion is the cults that break off into different groups are forever seeking domination - thank you Eileen - Lindsay

The problem arises when religion is used to camouflage personal agendas. Your words provide much food for thought, Lindsay. ~ Regards // paul

Hello Paul … I can't agree with you more Paul. Many crimes are hidden behind the walls of religions - thanks Paul - Lindsay

Sad but true my friend. So much wrong is done in the Name of God. That's because Man is able to fail, God is not. God forgives, Man does not. God is patient, Man is not. God is All Knowing, Man just THINKS he is. So according to Man everybody is wrong except himself so everybody should listen to him. Only trouble is , Which person do we listen to? Because WE ALL think we are the only one who has it right. (sigh) Now I'm confused. It makes the head hurt. Nice job. Point well taken. God Bless, JB

Hello Judy … thanks for your interesting comment Judy. Greed appears to be the modern God to many and instead of working with nature, choose to work against it. Once again, thank you Judy - Lindsay

Hi Lindsay, we have a close family member who is agnostic and yet, he is the kindest, most gentle soul I have ever known in my entire life - I love him with my heart being and soul- I also have a close acquaintance who is a regular church goer and yet the biggest gossiper and trouble maker I could ever know. Thank-you Lindsay, Hugs, Jennifer.

Hello Jennifer … I think it's up to the individual's personality that we should believe in. Believers and non believers seem to want to fight, argue, and war without changing a thing - thank you Jennifer - Lindsay

Too many stories, so much killing... There is a nasty butcher who kills all his life... All of us will be dead by that butcher’s knife... He loves blood and demands worship day and night, He promises that good will come in this strife.

I like your piece.....my definition of "agnostic"" -- a somewhat timid atheist. lol

Hello Leo … thanks for reading this verse Leo. I've never really thought about 'agnostic' meaning, but I'll go with you. Thank you Leo - Lindsay

It is better to be an Agnostic than a blatant sinner who knows the truth of Gods words

G'day Timothy … do you mean like a shopkeeper who attends church on Sunday and robs his customers on Monday. That's what makes your comment so true - thanks Timothy - Lindsay
