Unfailing Love
My reflection is his empty, shadowed eyes
A blur of who I once was and of who I could be.
Why have I lost myself to please another?
I do not recognize this woman wearing disguises.
Sheets of winter rain mask the beauty of the landscape
Like the masks I have worn through the seasons of my life.
Lord, only You can make me a new creation.
Then, I pray,
Father, part the clouds. Help me to see clearly for the first time.
Father, guide me. Shine your light on the path leading to you.
Teach me to see myself like You see me.
Teach me to love myself like You love me.
Teach me to love others like You love the world.
I am your daughter. My hope is in You alone.
I am your daughter. You will never abandon me.
I am your daughter. For, I love You.
I am called according to Your purpose.
Father, your unfailing love is a gift.
Now, I know who I am.
My reflection in Your bright, loving eyes
A vivid reflection of a shining star. Your creation.
And I am learning to accept love.
