Unexpected Feelings

I never expected to feel this way, With old age now having a lot of the say, Yet these feeling won't go away, And long may they stay. Every day now these feelings point the way, No matter what old age cares to say, These feelings refuse to go away, And I am keener than ever for them to stay. Every day I find a new way, To change what old age has to say, And not give these feelings away, Feeling better about myself each day they prolong their stay. I feel new challenges are coming my way, About which old age will have no say, As I chase my grumps away, And invite me to stay. I only see the good things yet to come my way, If I don't let old age have all the say, Fun and laughter will never be far away, However long I have left to stay.

Such a great outlook on aging! It happens to those of us lucky enough to have a rich old life. My husband and I joke about our ailments and do what we can. Passing on knowledge to our kids and grandkids keeps us feeling needed and valued. Can't ask for more than that! The g.kids keep us young. A lovely poem David! I adore your country. Aloha, Connie

Glad to know there are still a few others who don't let old age take more than its due. We just need to use our vote to prevent barriers being placed in our way for quality of life. Thanks again for reading. NZ is mostly OK but we take nothing for granted. Our Police are having success in prosecutions and confiscation of gang assets and drug busts are hurting them too. We pray for their continued success. Regards David in NZ

Thank you. I appreciate your comment. A healthy attitude is important for quality of life at any age. It has to be worked at as does anything worthwhile. Regards and happy holidays. David.
