Underwater

Love me like we're underwater
no coming up for air
beautiful
quiet
refreshing
exhilarating
eyes closed
private and intimate
Just the two us beneath ripples of flowing water until we eventually need to come up for air
To leave moment
Yet when we surface
You're here but it isn't as it was
Not when the current danced with our hair
Your hand in mine
Chests tight from held breaths
I wish i understood
Why don't you love me like we're underwater;
When others can see
Only under the tide, current, and the weight of water may you love me as I crave.
