Understand Me

Please, sit down across from me and tell me what you see. Am I white? black? Asian? Indian? native American? Don’t be a fool; listen so that maybe you’ll understand. God gave you ears for a reason. Allow me to explain my actions. You may have been born into a different home. One with stress One with ease One with hate One with love. I was only given what I got, and if you grew up looking through my eyes You would see I’m doing the best with what I have. So, don’t label me by my actions, or the color of my skin. When you do that I am no longer a person, You will only see me by what you call me. I have a heart like you, And god gave each one of us a voice to speak, Eyes to create, and ears to understand. So, understand me and love me. In return I will do the same to you. Please, don’t be a fool and try to act cool. It’s through love and understanding that we may live harmony.
