Notes About The Poem

UNDERSIDE OF LIGHT

something shifted
  not loudly
just a thin bright seam
opening between seconds

a glimmer
    uninvited
      but welcome
like a thought remembering itself

today leaned
  sideways
and the air
held its breath

  a pale shimmer
    slid across my hands
soft as dust deciding to glow

and I stood there
in the middle of the room
feeling the world
  tilt
    ever so slightly

as if it wanted
to show me
the underside
of light

I read this as something beyond the grasp of simple observation. I really like the part the speaker has I see as akin to a lightning rod, the difference of course, the visitation from something inexplicably, yet gently ethereal. Love the language nicely pinpointing what's seemingly supernatural with a strong open-minded presence articulating the strange experience with many interesting lines, three, four, and eight being my favorite.
