Listen to poem:

Underground

Underground

When we're not pushing daisies
But there's planting ahead

When the world is still buzzing
Busy bee in my head

When the darkness envelops
And the sunshine is low

When the world is a maze
And there's nowhere to go

In graffiti I find
A strange message of hope

Someone like me has been here;
At the end of their rope

And the painted grey concrete
Lifts my spirit so high

That it could almost soar
Like a bird in the sky

From the grim under-belly
And the seedy dark corners

Pastel blueness of hope
And a sun that will warm us..

I guess travelers find
In their moments of loss

That the mountains, so hopeful,
Are worth valleys to cross

Every uncertain footstep
Every moment of fear

Is out weighed by the message:
Heaven Was Here
