Under the Folds of Satin Movie Magic

Sun goes down until twilight hours of dawn
under the light of a corner street lamp.
A performance stage, casts, leading me on.
Awestruck audience at the fickle vamp.

Pacing back and forth in high-heels to heat
every wink of the night, vain, among men;
I snap, pop my gum and tap as my feet
meet the pavement again-again-again.

A star, in the oldest known profession
as old as time in cobalt lambent light.
Easily drapery falls, no question
with fascination in an endless night.

Under the folds of satin and night skies,
my Prince Charming forevermore, my prize.

You get better all the time Eve with both word and form--love your take on the movie---love how you catch the idiosyncrasies of the "profession" and the movie (one of my favs by him along with "An Officer & a Gentleman") . Also, your meter is getting there--hope you're having fun, because it feels you are.--Big congrats on your well deserved placement!

You dressed her night life perfectly Eve, down to the dreams she had of being rescued. I loved that movie and your poem is brilliantly penned. Congratulations on your deserving top win! xxoo

You chose a great chick flick, Eve! Her prince is one very handsome fellow, even today! I like Michael Douglas too. Another actor that I enjoy in Kominsky Method. Good job. Your title is very catchy!
