Under the Endless Sky

I danced my way into this world
on the tip of my toes.
Gentle, silent, a ghostly presence
And yet you shoved me into a glass bottle
and pushed me down a hill.

The bottle rolled and rolled
and with every stone it met it cracked
And cracked and cracked
and through the cracks I watched
the misconstrued shadow of a person
faintly reminding of me.

But how many cracks can the glass take
......I broke free
I shouted and screamed to scare the shadows away
but my voice sounded like a long forgotten dream.
I was silenced by thousand of years of prejudice and ignorance.
You close your eyes at the sight of me
and in my face you see a scary little being
but who is the ugly troll here my friend... definitely not me

Who is the one to point at me and tell me I am no true
not allowed to feel or breathe or love and cry and laugh it's cruel.
You know... I've counted all the cracks on the glass,
they were seven wounds.
And each one bled and ache but at that point I knew.
What I had to do is say no to all of you.

Then I decided I liked the sound of blue...
oh wait...blue is not a sound or says who
who is it really that makes the rules
For you I might be a freak...
oh...what a fool.

Time to wake up, rub your eyes and don't you blink
the earth is round but flat is all you see.
People are round and square
and all the shapes you thought they can never be.
Until you do it's clear to me.
To grow I should keep the fight.
But since it's late at night
I'll close my eyes and sleep...
Under the endless sky.

Thanks for sharing this... exposing your thoughts through your unique poetic style. Meanwhile, I greet you with the love of the Lord, expressed by John 3:16 of the Bible, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." Be blessed.
